PROVO, Utah, May 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 25-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle hit a passenger car on Saturday morning.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The accident happened at 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of 900 East and 820 North.

“The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on 900 East,” Sgt. Nischa King, Provo Police Department, told Gephardt Daily. “It hit a four-door, silver passenger car traveling west. The motorcyclist struck the driver’s side of the vehicle.”

Investigators are not ready to say who was at fault, King said.

“That’s still part of the investigation.”

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The two people in the car were treated at the scene for minor cuts caused by glass from the broken window.

The roadway was closed for about 90 minutes before it could be reopened to traffic, King said.
