3 critically injured in Bangerter Highway crash

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, June 23, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people have been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early morning crash in Taylorsville.

The accident happened at about 2 a.m. when a man and woman in a Chrysler passenger car drove through the intersection at 5400 South and collided with another passenger vehicle driving on Bangerter Highway.

Lt. Manfred Lassig, Unified Police Department, told Gephardt Daily all three crash victims were severely injured and that the man and woman pulled from the Chrysler were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in extremely critical condition.

Lassig said it was unclear what led to the accident, but both vehicles were likely traveling 40 to 50 mph at the time of the crash.

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate the cause of the crash.

Lassig said it was unknown if alcohol contributed to the accident.

The names of the crash victims have yet to be released.
