TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, June 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 6-year-old boy is in extremely critical condition Monday night after nearly drowning in a condominium complex swimming pool.

Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray said the child was found in the pool at Crosspointe Condo in Taylorsville at about 7:25 p.m.

A man who saw the boy and pulled him from the water started CPR until emergency responders arrived and took over life-saving measures.

Witnesses told officials the boy may have been underwater as long as five to seven minutes.

The child was flown by LifeFlight to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, where his condition was listed as extremely critical, Gray said.

There is no lifeguard at the pool, and Gray wasn’t sure how many people were in or near the pool when the boy went under the water.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information is made available.
