SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 6, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) Thomas S. Monson, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been released from a Salt Lake City hospital, according to Church spokesman Erik Hawkins.

“President Monson was released from the hospital last evening, and plans to resume his normal schedule and duties today,” Hawkins wrote.

Monson had been hospitalized since Monday after falling ill just one day after speaking at the Church’s annual spring conference.

Wednesday, the Church rebuffed widespread rumors on the Internet that President Monson has passed away.

The 89-year-old church leader has been president since 2008.
