New: 4 dead in small plane crash on I-15 in Weber County

ROY, Utah, July 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Four people are dead after a small plane crashed on Interstate 15 near Riverdale Road in Roy, Wednesday afternoon.

The plane went down in the median at about 12:40 p.m. According to reports, the single-engine plane had just left Ogden-Hinckley Airport, which is used primarily by small airplanes.

Only twisted wreckage is left of the plane. Everyone aboard died in the crash. No one on the ground was injured, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce told Gephardt Daily.

The names of those killed have not yet been released, pending notification of families.

The left-hand lanes on both northbound and southbound I-15 are closed, and travelers are advised to avoid the area.
