CLEARFIELD, Utah, Dec. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Transit Authority was dealing with a suspicious package found on a southbound FrontRunner train at about 6:30 p.m Monday.

At 10:39 p.m., UTA tweeted that a bus bridge had been canceled, and people should “expect further delays as trains resume regular schedules.”

Earlier in the evening, UTA Public Information Officer Carl Arky told Gephardt Daily that all passengers were taken off the train at Clearfield, and a bus bridge was established from Layton to Roy to get commuters to their destinations.

All FrontRunner traffic in the area was stopped while the situation was being assessed.

Arky said UTA Police officials were on scene and bomb technicians were called out to determine whether the package posed a threat.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information becomes available.
