LEHI, Utah, July 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Saturday night fun took a tragic turn for a group of teens in Lehi when a member of their group jumped from a bridge at 3500 West and 1500 North and didn’t resurface from the water.

Lehi Fire Department Battalion Chief Tim Robinson said a group of four to six boys and girls were jumping from the old iron bridge at that location.

A 16-year-old boy made the jump, but failed to come back out of the water.

Robinson told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred at about 11:08 p.m.

Lehi Fire Department, Search and Rescue, Saratoga Springs Fire and Rescue and Utah Highway Patrol were still attempting to locate the youth at 1 a.m. Sunday.

Robinson said the other teens were being interviewed at the police station.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
