NEW YORK, March 3 (UPI) — NBCUniversal announced its growing participation with the cable-cutting movement by announcing a new comedy-centric subscription-based package.

NBC already has a drama-heavy streaming package, but now the network wants to highlight its award-winning comedy content.

The new on-demand subscription service is expected to be available to watchers later this year, Lauren Skowronski, vice president of corporate communications, told USA Today.

It’s unclear what content will be available through the as-yet-unnamed service, but people familiar with the project told The Wall Street Journal NBC is considering including Saturday Night Live and other current series.

CBS’ All Access service, which features dramatic content, is $5.99 per month.
