LOS ANGELES – November 24, 2015 — (UPI) — Kirsten Vangsness and boyfriend Keith Hanson recently got engaged.

The 43-year-old actress announced the news in an interview with People magazine published Monday. Vangsness couldn’t help but gush about her husband-to-be, who proposed this month in front of her family and friends.

“He’s the perfect partner for me and I feel like we evolve,” the star shared. “When you’re so into somebody and you get to just mush up next to them — that’s the best part of it.”

Sources told E! News Hanson proposed with an emerald and diamond ring at The Redbury hotel in Hollywood. The couple are now planning their wedding, and Vangsness told People she might incorporate her love for dinosaurs.

“The only thing I know I think I want is that I want to spray paint dinosaurs gold and use them as table markers, so that you could be like, ‘You’re at stegosaurus,'” she said. “I want a plaid dress that’s so cool I could wear it something else.”

Vangsness revealed she is seeing Hanson in an interview with Smashing Interviews magazine in April. The actress was previously engaged to Melanie Goldstein, and told the publication it was “an interesting thing” to subsequently fall for a man.

“Not that it’s anyone’s business, but it’s also important, I think, to normalize those things,” she opined. “Love is wonderful, and it’s wonderful to love people. Who it is, to me, is not a big issue.”

Vangsness is best known for playing FBI technical analyst Penelope Garcia on CBS series Criminal Minds, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. She also portrayed the character on the short-lived spinoff, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.
