NEW YORK, May 27 (UPI) — Anne Hathaway admitted to missing the first 20 minutes of her latest film, “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” saying she instead had to feed her newborn.

The new mom to baby Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman revealed as much Friday morning on “Good Morning America,” where she touched on the life changes motherhood imposes.

“I’m sorry. I am a new mother and I didn’t time the feeding schedule — well, like I have any control over it,” the 33-year-old actress told correspondent Chris Connelly. “My kid was hungry, I had to feed him, I missed the first 20 minutes so I can’t tell you about the beginning of the movie.”

Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman welcomed their first child in Los Angeles in March. News broke of her pregnancy when she posted a photo on Instagram in November.

Hathaway plays the White Queen in the film, and discussed how much of “Through the Looking Glass” is based on her character’s secrets.

“It was nice to find out that she wasn’t so good all the time,” Hathaway said of the seemingly perfect White Queen. “She’s covering something up. And that all that goodness is kind of put on so the people don’t find out her secret.”

Reflecting on her career-making film “The Princess Diaries,” Hathaway said she was grateful to be part of so many people’s lives through her princess character opposite Julie Andrews.

The film taught her “that film has legacy,” she said. “It’s given people the opportunity [for] little girls and little boys to curl up with their parents on the couch…and sit and cuddle.”

“It’s a real honor to think that something you’ve been a part of becomes a part of the fabric of people’s lives, you know?” Hathaway added.
