LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) — Recording artist Robin Thicke is remembering his late father Alan as “the greatest man I ever met.”

Alan died of a heart attack Tuesday while playing hockey with his youngest child, 19-year-old Carter.

Speaking to The Los Angeles Times on the evening of his dad’s death, Robin said the actor was “always a gentleman.”

“The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure,” he added. “I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him.”

“I’m sad beyond words that Alan Thicke has passed away. I’ve known you since I was 8 years old and so glad I had the pleasure of working with you again so recently on Fuller House. You were a part of my family and hockey family. You will be greatly missed. My heart hurts,” Candace Cameron Bure said in an Instagram post.

Bure’s brother Kirk Cameron also co-starred with Alan on the iconic sitcom “Growing Pains,” which ran 1985-92.

“Just heard of #AlanThicke’s passing. 1st job in LA was as an intern for him… He was a very nice boss. Sending good thoughts to his family,” tweeted actor and filmmaker Ben Stiller.

“Thank you for your kindness concerning Alan Thicke’s passing. It is a shock. We were all just together for Thanksgiving. He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family. Rest In Peace, dear one,” actress and singer Gloria Loring — who was married to Thicke 1970-83 — said in a statement.

“What. The. Hell. R.I.P. 1947-2016 Show me that smile again, Mr Seaver,” actor Theodus Crane tweeted.

“So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke. Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan,” offered actor and comedian Bob Saget.
