LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) — Canadian-born pop star Justin Bieber ended the taping of his Comedy Central roast Saturday by saying a few words about the bad behavior that made him such an easy target.

The Hollywood Reporter said the 21-year-old singer admitted he “turned a lot of people off the past few years.”

“There was no preparing me for this life. I got thrown into this, 12 years old,” Bieber explained.

“There are moments I’m proud of and things I’ve done that don’t define who I am. I look forward to being someone you’re proud of,” he added. “I’m excited to see what’s next. … You have my word — I will not end up broken, pathetic, bitter or sitting on someone else’s roast. I’m at a moment of change. This is a new day.”

The special is set to air on the cable television network March 30. Kevin Hart hosted the event, which featured appearances by Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Jeff Ross, Natasha Legerro, Hannibal Buress, Will Ferrell, Martha Stewart, Pete Davidson and Shaquille O’Neal.
