LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) — In a now-deleted Facebook video, Corey Feldman tearfully defended his eccentric “Today” show performance, saying it “wasn’t that weird.”

Feldman, 45, performed his new song “Go 4 It” on the morning show on Sept. 16, surrounded by musicians in angel costumes, whom he has dubbed “Corey’s Angels.”

Accompanied by angel Courtney Anne, Feldman said that the experience has been “really painful.”

“We put ourselves out there and we did the best that we could. And, like, I’ve never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly,” Feldman said in the video.

“It was a song, okay? It wasn’t that weird,” he added. “I’m sorry if it’s not good enough for you, but you don’t have to beat us up.”

Feldman appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “The Talk” to discuss the original performance and his deleted Facebook video.

“I took it down because I wanted people to see the real emotion that I was feeling,” Feldman told co-host Sharon Osbourne. “In today’s world of celebrity, people always kind of hide behind their publicists. They hide behind their masks… You never really see how it affects somebody’s emotions. I wanted people to see that I am not a fake, I’m a real person, and this affects me.”
