Country Singer Craig Morgan’s Son Missing After Boating Accident

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn., July 11 (UPI) — The 19-year-old son of country singer Craig Morgan went missing in the Tennessee River Sunday following a boating accident.

Jerry Greer, whose mother is Karen Greer, was tubing with another man behind a boat near Kentucky Lake when they collided and went under. Greer, who witnessed, said he was wearing a life jacket, but never surfaced, The Tennessean reported.

The Morgan family released a statement. “Recent Dickson County High School graduate Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer, went missing yesterday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Recovery efforts to locate him are underway. The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time.”

Morgan 51 whose hits include “Tough” and “International Harvester,” has four children with his wife, People reported. In addition to Jerry, they have a daughter, Alex and two sons, Kyle and Wyatt. He also has a show called “Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors” which airs on the Outdoor Channel.

The City of Dickson Fire Department, the Dickson County Underwater Search and Recovery team and the Tennessee City Fire Department all searched through the night and into Monday in an attempt to find Greer.
