May 8 (UPI) — Debra Messing is speaking out against President Donald Trump and has called upon his daughter Ivanka Trump to start taking action on her own.

“Let’s talk to each other, one Jewish mother to another … it’s time to do something,” Messing addressed Ivanka onstage Saturday as she accepted GLAAD’s Excellence in Media Award at the 28th annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

“Ivanka, you can change the lives of millions of [people],” the actress continued. “Ivanka, please stop blindly defending your father and start defending what you say. You can’t just say #womenwhowork and say [you’re a feminist] … If you get Steve Bannon out of office, I bet we’ll get you back in Nordstrom.”

“It is not enough to simply say that women’s issues are important to you,” Messing added. “Ivanka, you can change the lives of millions of women and children just by telling your dad stories about real people who are suffering. Don’t let him separate immigrant mothers from their American-born children. Don’t let him take healthcare away from women who need it.”

Messing received the award for promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.

At the event, the 48-year-old also discussed with CNN the upcoming 12-episode revival of “Will & Grace” that is set to premiere on NBC this fall.

“I never imagined it would have been possible 11 years later for us to reunite. But now that it’s happening it’s just very, very right,” Messing said.

“I know that I need to laugh,” she continued. “It’s been a stressful year and I want to make people laugh, and I think more than anything that’s what we are all feeling right now, is we want to make people laugh.”
