DVD Review: “Into The Woods,” “Unbroken,” and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”
“Into The Woods”
“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests.
Based on the long-running Broadway play, “Into the Woods” is a rather dull and lifeless reproduction of the musical. I found it to be a bit too plodding in places and under performed.
It gets a C- on Blu-ray and DVD it’s rated PG.

“Unbroken”
Angelina Jolie directs and produces “Unbroken,” an epic drama that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis “Louie” Zamperini, played byJack O’Connell who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII—only to be caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.
“Unbroken” is a terrific film with deep performances from it’s cast. I can not reccomend this film enough. Yes take it home, and yes watch it twice.
It gets an A and is rated PG-13

“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”
“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves.
Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town.
Peter Jackson puts his epic film series to rest as he concludes “The Hobbit” series which opens the door to the “Lord of the Rings” – if you want to watch them in order.
It gets an A and carries a PG-13
