March 23 (UPI) — Sib Hashian, the former drummer of the rock band Boston, died while performing on a cruise ship on Wednesday night.

Hashian’s, son Adam Hashian, told TMZ that the 67-year-old drummer collapsed while performing on the Legends of Rock Cruise.

He died after attempts to resuscitate him using CPR and a defibrillator were unsuccessful.

“It is with deep and profound sadness I share the news of my husband’s, John ‘Sib’ Hashian, the drummer formerly of the band Boston, sudden death,” his wife Suzanne Hashian said, according to WCVB.

The Legends of Rock Cruise left from Miami, Fla. on March 18 and was scheduled to return on March 25 after making stops in St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

Hashian performed with Boston on the band’s first two albums including the self-titled debut album and the follow-up “Don’t Look Back.”
