‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ tops the North American box office with $145M

May 7 (UPI) — Chris Pratt‘s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $145 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is “The Fate of the Furious” with $8.5 million, followed by “The Boss Baby” at No. 3 with $6.2 million, “How to be a Latin Lover” at No. 4 with $5.3 million and “Beauty and the Beast” at No. 5 with $4.9 million.

Rounding out the top tier are “The Circle” at No. 6 with $4 million, “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” at No. 7 with $3.2 million, Gifted at No. 8 with $2 million, “Going in Style” at No. 9 with $1.9 million and “Smurfs: The Lost Village” with $1.8 million.
