LAS VEGAS, April 13 (UPI) — “Indiana Jones” producer Frank Marshall recently discussed the franchise’s potential for more sequels following the upcoming fifth installment.

“It’s all about the story,” Marshall said to Variety while attending CinemaCon on Monday, when asked about the possibility of more adventures starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

“I think both in the “Jason Bourne” series and on “Indiana Jones,” we are not going to do the Bond thing,” he continued referencing how he believes only Ford should be seen donning the iconic fedora and whip instead of a rotating cast of leading actors.

“We think those characters are iconic, and those are the only actors who can play that.”

Marshall’s sentiments come after series director Steven Spielberg has spoken out against replacing Ford in his signature role after “Jurassic World” star Chris Pratt was rumored to take over the part. “It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman,” Spielberg said at the time. “There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

Marshall, Ford, and Spielberg will all be collaborating once again on the recently announced “Indiana Jones 5,” which will be produced alongside Marshall’s wife and Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” Disney chairman Alan Horn said in a statement announcing the sequel.
