LONDON, Sept. 3 (UPI) — Janice Dickinson was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a severe allergic reaction on live TV Tuesday.

The former model was appearing on Celebrity Big Brother UK when she began complaining of two bee stings on her left hand. Within minutes, she seized and collapsed.

During the broadcast, Dickinson had reportedly asked camera crew members to bring her an EpiPen, but none were in the house. Her hand had turned purple at the time and she was having difficulty swallowing and breathing.

Producers cut away from the scene only briefly during the medical emergency, switching to a buffer before returning the live feed back on Dickinson.

According to a Celebrity Big Brother rep, the television personality was rushed to a hospital and underwent treatment for several hours before returning to the house. Her condition after the reaction is still unknown.

The show is now being criticized for showing the emergency on television and featuring it as a highlight later in the day. BBC reports 37 standards complaints have been made against the Channel 5 show.
