HOT SPRINGS, Ark., Sept. 2 2015 — (UPI) — Jessa Duggar has publicly distanced herself from troubled brother Josh Duggar for the first time since multiple scandals have surfaced involving the Duggar family.

Jessa shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday a blog post written by her father-in-law Michael Seewald criticizing Josh for his recent Ashley Madison infidelity scandal. Husband Ben Seewald followed suit by tweeting out the hard-hitting piece that refers to Josh as a “hypocritical Christian.”

“It distressed me to say that Josh Duggar’s greatest sin is a byproduct of the sum total of his secretly sinful lifestyle,” Seewald wrote on his blog. “That is, that by his hypocrisy, he blasphemed the name of God. He claimed to be a Christian, but by his deeds he has suggested otherwise.”

“With the name of God on his lips he lived a covert and extensive lifestyle of evil,” Seewald wrote. “While proudly saying things like, ‘Our family is like the epitome of conservative values,’ he was looking at porn and soliciting affairs … undermining his own family by violating the traditional marriage covenant.”

Previously Jessa stood by her brother seemingly showing support in August when she took to Instagram to preach forgiveness with a photo of an underlined Bible passage entitled “Walk in the Light.” In June, she told Fox News she and the family had moved on after she and sister Jill were molested by Josh as girls when he was a teenager.

“Josh was a boy, a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls,” Jessa said to Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. “And that got him into some trouble. And he made some bad choices, but, really, the extent of it was mild – inappropriate touching on fully clothed victims, most of it while [the] girls were sleeping.”

Jessa and sister Jill recently addressed the sexual abuse scandal in the TLC documentary Breaking the Silence on Sunday.

Josh has since apologized for his extramarital activities and has entered himself into a full-time rehab facility. Jessa and Ben Seewald married in Bentonville, Ark., in November 2014, and are expecting their first child to be born on their first wedding anniversary.
