LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30 (UPI) — John Stamos helped cheer up a young girl during a visit to a children’s hospital by calling her ex-boyfriend to scold him for dumping her.

Stamos sat bedside with the young girl, Amanda, at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and called her ex-boyfriend, Jorge, while his costar in the Fox comedy series “Grandfathered” filmed the video, released by People.

“Jorge, this is John Stamos,” he said after being directed to Jorge’s voicemail. “I’m with Amanda, my new girlfriend. Apparently you guys broke up and I swooped right in. So, your loss, Jorge. Your loss, because Amanda is a great gal.”

Stamos was eventually able to reach Jorge, as Josh Peck turned the camera toward himself and gasped while Amanda informed her ex-boyfriend that Peck was also there if he wanted to meet his “role model.”

“I think you made a big mistake,” Stamos said. “But it’s nice to meet you, pal.”

Everyone in the room erupted with laughter as Jorge responded with a simple “thank you” and Amanda smiled from ear to ear.

Netflix’s “Fuller House,” which stars Stamos alongside fellow original Full House cast members Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Collier, Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin and Andrea Barber, was renewed for a third season on Christmas Day.
