LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) — Singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell is speaking, three months after suffering an aneurysm, according to a statement released Sunday by her conservator.

“The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she’s speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies,” said the statement posted to JoniMitchell.com. “She is resting comfortably in her own home and she’s getting better each day. A full recovery is expected.”

The statement follows comments from Mitchell’s friend David Crosby that she was not speaking.

The statement from Mitchell’s conservator, Leslie Morris, alluded to comments about the 71-year-old singer’s health in recent days as “mostly                                          speculative.”

Mitchell was found unconscious in her Los Angeles home on March 31.

Mitchell told New York Magazine in February that she suffers from an illness called Morgellons, a neurological disorder that makes people believe that mysterious particles are crawling out of their skin.
