Jan. 9 (UPI) — Kendall Jenner isn’t letting critics of her acne detract from her “Golden Globes” appearance.

The 22-year-old model shared a positive message Monday on Twitter after being mocked for her complexion at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards ceremony Sunday.

Jenner spoke out after a fan praised her confidence at the awards show. The person wrote, “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand.”

“never let that [expletive] stop you!” Jenner wrote in response, adding a emoji with sunglasses. Her tweet received over 69,000 likes.

Jenner, who attended the Golden Globes on behalf of Vogue, shared photos of her look on Instagram. She was one of many stars to wear black as a sign of solidarity with the Time’s Up equality and anti-harassment campaign.

“honored and humbled to be able to attend the Golden Globes with @voguemagazine. my eyes were opened and my heart is full seeing all of the men and women who were a part of this vital change! i too stand with all women #TimesUp,” the star wrote.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star said in a blog post on her since-deleted website in October 2015 that having acne as a teen “completely ruined [her] self-esteem.” She credited her sisters with supporting her through the struggle.
