Oct. 24 (UPI) — Kim Cattrall says she’s “never” been friends with her “Sex and the City” co-stars.

The 61-year-old actress discussed her relationship with Sarah Jessica ParkerKristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon on Monday’s episode of “Piers Morgan‘s Life Stories” after turning down “Sex and the City 3.”

“We’ve never been friends,” she told host Piers Morgan. “We’ve been colleagues and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.”

Cattrall, Parker, Davis and Nixon starred as Samantha, Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda in six seasons of the HBO series “Sex and the City,” and reprised the roles in two films, “Sex and the City” (2008) and “Sex and the City 2” (2010). News broke in September that a third sequel had fallen through.

“I remember so clearly making that decision,” Cattrall recalled of turning down the film. “Last December, I got a phone call and it was concerning that, and the answer was simply, ‘Thank you, but no.'”

“Now to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva? This is really where I take to task the people from ‘Sex and the City,’ and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, is that I think she could’ve been nicer,” she said.

DailyMailTV had reported Sept. 28 that “Sex and the City 3” fell through due to Cattrall’s “demands.” Parker confirmed in an interview with Extra the same day that she and her co-stars won’t return for the sequel.

“It’s over… we’re not doing it,” the 52-year-old actress said.

“I’m disappointed,” she confessed. ‘We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for the audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
