‘Ocean’s 8’ gets June 2018 release date

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 (UPI) — “Ocean’s Eight,” Warner Bros.’ “Ocean’s Eleven” spinoff featuring an all-female led cast now has a release date of June 8, 2018.

The film, headlined by Sandra Bullock who leads a group of thieves in a major heist, will also star Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mindy Kaling.

“It’s a great script, and it’s great for women,” Bonham said. “Just hilarious.”

Gary Ross will direct the film and will co-produce alongside Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh.

The “Ocean’s Eleven” remakes, which starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt DamonAndy Garcia, and Julian Roberts, made more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
