WASHINGTON, May 5 (UPI) — Proceeds from Selena Gomez‘s “Revival Tour” will go towards lupus research, according to reports.

The singer, diagnosed with the condition in 2013, will donate income from ticket sales to the Alliance for Lupus Research, based in New York.

A representative of Gomez said the organization, which aims to uncover better treatments and preventions for lupus, was chosen because of its extended reach.

The “Revival Tour” will begin Friday in Las Vegas, with Gomez saying she is excited to return to the stage with newfound independence.

“This show is so centered around me, and I mean that in a way of confidence, of strength,” she said, according to Billboard. “It has a beautiful feel to it, but it is about me, so if I want to come in one day and say I want to change or add this, I can do that. That’s the first time I’ve ever really been able to do that in my life. And I feel, I feel great about it. It’s not me making sure I hit all the dance moves.”

“There’s so much I want to prove to myself for this tour and it’s just based on me, it’s based on my voice, it’s based on what I say to my crowd,” she adds. “That’s all I really want.”

The singer also broke down her tour set list, telling Entertainment Weekly she will focus on her latest material while still nodding at her former work.

“I haven’t toured for two years, and there’s such a difference when you perform music that you created,” she told the outlet. “I have a pretty healthy perspective on what my past music was,” she said, speaking about her music from when she worked with Disney.

The Revival Tour will include her latest songs “Hands to Myself,” and “Good For You,” while still adding “Come & Get it,” (which she likened to a “Rihanna reject”) and “Who Says.”
