Brown is the daughter of Kody Brown and his first wife, Meri Brown. A preview for next week’s episode shows Meri crying as she admits to Kody and fourth wife Robyn Brown that she didn’t see the news coming.

“We’re not happy that Mariah’s gay. We’re happy that she knows herself,” Kody explains to his first wife.

Kody and his wives are fundamentalist Mormons who practice polygamy. The reality star revealed in an interview with HuffPost Live in 2013 that he and his family support gay marriage.

“We have established our family the way that we have chose to. We’ve organized it the way we’ve wanted to. We believe that all people should be allowed that right,” he said at the time.

Kody is also married to second wife Janelle Brown and third wife Christine Brown. He is dad to 17 children with Janelle, Christine and Robyn, including Mykelti Brown, who married Antonio Padron in December 2016.
