Superman takes flight in new ‘Supergirl’ Season 2 ‘Sky’ trailer

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20 (UPI) — Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman takes to the skies in a new trailer for Season 2 of “Supergirl.”

The clip, released Monday, features the Man of Steel springing into action as a spacecraft begins to crash land onto Earth.

He is soon joined by his cousin and series main protagonist Supergirl, portrayed by Melissa Benoist, who is happy to finally be teaming up with her fellow Kryptonian.

“I’ve dreamt of this moment, the two of us teaming up,” Benoist can be heard saying as part of a voiceover.

“Supergirl” Season 2 is set to premiere on its new home, The CW, starting Oct. 10.

Hoechlin who was cast as the television version of the iconic hero in July, has stated how serious he is about taking on the role. “I know the character represents so much to so many people,” Hoechlin said. “There is a lot of responsibility with this character. I’m really excited.”
