Tracee Ellis Ross wins Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series at Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) — Tracee Ellis Ross won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for “Black-ish.” The actress was up against Rachel Bloom in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus in “Veep,” Sarah Jessica Parker in “Divorce,” Issa Rae in “Insecure” and Gina Rodriguez in “Jane the Virgin.”

Ross, who wore a sparkly and sheer strapless dress, said, “This is for all of the women of color whose stories, ideas, thoughts are not always considered worthy or important, but I see you and we see you.”

Other winners include “Atlanta” for Best TV Series — Comedy or Musical, Aaron Taylor-Johnson for Best Supporting Actor in “Nocturnal Animals,” Billy Bob Thornton for “Goliath” and Sarah Paulson for Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actress in “The People Vs OJ Simpson.”
