Sept. 1 (UPI) — Zendaya once dated someone who was unfaithful.

The 21-year-old actress said as much this week while sharing relationship advice with fans in a new video on her website.

“But I would say, follow your gut,” she told her followers. “If you feel it, it’s probably happening. If you feel like you can’t trust somebody, or you feel whatever, then you shouldn’t be in a relationship with them.”

“Something I learned is it’s very hard to be in a relationship when the both of you are still figuring out life,” the star added. “You cannot change anybody. You cannot make someone grow up faster than they’re supposed to.”

Zendaya largely keeps her personal life private, but said in the July issue of Vogue that she split from someone in spring 2016 after four years of dating. She said it “wasn’t a good ending,” but said she is moving on.

“You know you’re OK in a breakup when your first thought is not, ‘What did I do wrong?’ It’s, ‘That was the dumbest decision of your life, and you’re going to regret it forever,'” the actress said.

Zendaya is known for playing K.C. Cooper on the Disney Channel series “K.C. Undercover,” which will likely end after Season 3. She recently appeared in the movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” with Tom Holland.
