WEST POINT, Utah, Nov. 6, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Davis County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two men involved in a suspected homicide in West Point in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident took place near 438 N. 3275 West at approximately 1:35 a.m., Davis County Sheriff’s Capt. Jennifer Daley said.

A news release from the Sheriff’s Office Monday afternoon said officials responded to a call of a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, it appeared that Robin William Lundin, 28, who lives at the residence, had shot Colby Scott Barney, 30, from the Salt Lake area, the news release said.

“Our initial investigation has lead us to believe that Mr. Barney was invited to the home of Mr. Lundin,” the news release said.  “The two individuals engaged in an argument that resulted in Mr. Barney being shot in the chest.”

Lundin has been cooperating with the investigation and is now booked into the Davis County Jail facing charges of first degree murder. The investigation remains ongoing.

West Point is approximately four miles west of Clearfield in Davis County.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
