1 injured in Tuesday night house fire in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City woman was taken to an area hospital Tuesday night after her residence caught fire.

Crews responded to the home, at 935 W. McFarland Drive (830 North) after a call to 911 reported the fire. The flames started on a porch and spread into the house, according to tweets posted by the Salt Lake City Fire Department.

The fire was put out, but the elderly homeowner, alone at the time, was taken to the University Medical Center Burn Unit to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire had not yet been released.
