12-Year-Old Killed, 5 Others Injured In Fairview Rollover Accident

FAIRVIEW, UTAH – June 21, 2015 (Gepahrdt Daily) A 12-year-old boy was killed and 5 others were injured in a rollover on Highway 89 in Fairview Saturday.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a vehicle occupied by five juvenile males and one adult male was traveling north on Highway 89 near mile post 291. The juvenile driver attempted to pass another vehicle when his left front tire blew out.

The vehicle swerved off the road to the left, hit a drainage ditch and rolled several times coming to rest on the driver’s side.

In the process of rolling, a 12-year-old sitting in the back seat was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.
