17-year-old wounded in Kearns shooting; police searching for 2 suspects

KEARNS, Utah, Sept. 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect after a 17-year-old was shot and wounded in Kearns Sunday.

Unified Police say the shooting happened in the area of 5155 W. 6200 South shortly after noon.

The victim suffered gun shot wounds to both legs and was taken to the hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are searching for 2 suspects last seen speeding from the area in a tan Chevrolet Impala with temporary tags mounted in the rear window.

Police investigators were interviewing prospective witnesses as the shooting site.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area while detectives processed the scene.

Later in the afternoon, three more shots were allegedly heard in the area and reported to police, though no suspects were seen and no further details were available.
