DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, July 24, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people have been killed in a head-on collision on State Route 87 in Duchesne County.
Accident happened at 4:36 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 33, near the town of Ioka. A 1995 Chrysler with a driver and two passengers was traveling east on SR-87. A 2008 Hyundai was traveling the same road westbound with a driver and four passengers.
The driver of the Chrysler suddenly crossed the center line, entering the Hyundai’s lane, and colliding with it. The crash caused the death of both drivers.
Speed and/or impairment are not suspected as contributing factors.
