WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for two suspects who ran a red light Sunday afternoon, crashed the van they were in and then took advantage of a good Samaritan to make their getaway.

West Valley City Police Lt. Colleen Nolen told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. when two people, driving a stolen van, ran a red light at 3100 South and 3200 West. The van then crashed into two other cars and rolled over.

Nolen said the suspects crawled out of the van, and a passerby in a gray 2017 Toyota Prius stopped to help. That’s when the suspects carjacked the Prius and took off.

Nolen said the only description of the suspects is that they are a man and a woman, both in their late 20s. The van they were driving was possibly stolen out of Salt Lake City.

Anyone who has any information about the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to call West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.
