TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, March 27, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Two 13-year-old girls are injured following an auto-pedestrian accident in Taylorsville Tuesday afternoon, police said.

A tweet from the Unified Police Department just after 4 p.m. said the incident occurred at 4200 S. Redwood Road. One of the girls was initially said to be in serious condition and the other in critical condition, but UPD subsequently tweeted that both girls had been upgraded to fair condition.

Unified Police Department officials said it appears the two girls were crossing the road in a crosswalk when they were hit by a maroon minivan travelling westbound and dragged a short distance. The driver of the minivan stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Southbound Redwood Road is closed at 4100 South and drivers are being urged to find an alternate route, according to a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
