20-month-old Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle in Driveway
KEARNS, UTAH – April 10, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A toddler has died after being hit by a vehicle in a driveway, police said.
The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m. at 5060 S. 4420 West, according to Unified Fire Authority, who was first on the scene. The 20-month-old female was hit by a vehicle in the driveway and received severe head trauma, Unified Fire said. She was unconscious when medical crews arrived on scene, and passed away at the hospital.
Her grandfather wanted to move the trash cans and had to move his truck in order to do so. He did not see the child had followed him outside and ran her over while he was moving the truck, according to Lt. Justin Hoyal with Unified Police.
