WEBER COUNTY, Utah, March 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 20-year-old man was injured after falling from a cliff in Jump Off Canyon near Ogden Saturday evening.

A Facebook news release from Weber County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue said the incident occurred in the area of 500 N. Mountain Road (1100 East) at approximately 6:15 p.m.

“The man was yelling for help up Jump Off Canyon, [saying] that he had fallen and was severely injured,” the news release said. “Due to his injuries we needed to work quickly to get him off the mountain and to a hospital for medical care.”

The man suffered a leg injury, officials said, and the Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter responded to the scene to hoist the man from the mountain. He was then transported by LifeFlight to an area hospital.

Weber County Search and Rescue was joined in the rescue by Ogden City Fire and EMS, and Heavy Rescue.

“Thanks to everyone who assisted in this challenging and time sensitive rescue,” the news release added.

The man’s identity has not been released by officials.
