Update: 5-year-old Herriman boy dies 2 days after near drowning in bathtub

HERRIMAN, Utah, Dec. 2, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 5-year-old Herriman boy has died two days after he was rushed to the hospital after a near-drowning incident.

The boy remained on life support on Friday, and died in the early hours of Saturday, according to Unified Police officials.

According to UPD Lt. Ken Hansen officers were called to the Timbergate Apartments at 5605 W. 11830 South at about 6:30 p.m. where the young boy had been found face down in a bathtub.

Investigators say the father was giving the child a bath when he momentarily stepped away from the room. When he returned he found the boy unconscious. 

The child was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in extremely critical condition. He died at 2 a.m. Saturday.
