WEBER COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection with a fatal rollover crash in Weber County in November.

Police are asking for anyone who knows the whereabouts of Derek Lyle Hendricks, 33, to call the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release on Facebook.

Hendricks was last known to live in the Layton area, the news release said.

Amber Lawrence, 32, from the West Weber area, was killed in the crash, which occurred on Nov. 21.

Weber County Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Jensen told Gephardt Daily dispatchers received a call at 3:40 p.m. reporting a hit-and-run accident in which one vehicle rear-ended another at 1900 West and 12th Street.

The fatal rollover happened just a few minutes later farther west, just off 12th Street, Jensen said, and investigators believe the incidents are related.

Jensen said Lawrence was a passenger in the car. She the male driver, alleged to be Hendricks, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.

The driver was transported by helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition. By Wednesday, he was stable.

Lawrence was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators said alcohol was a possible factor in the accident.

Anyone who has information on Hendricks’ whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Read at 801-778-6632 or dispatch at 801-629-8221.
