Police search for suspects after attempted robbery in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake police are searching for three suspects after an attempted robbery in Salt Lake City.

The incident occurred at 1302 S. Glendale St. at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

A man was standing outside his home, talking on the phone, when he was approached by three males, the news release said.

“He was struck in the head with a metal object, knocking him down,” the news release continued. “The suspects attempted to steal his phone and went through his pockets.”

A passerby on a bicycle yelled out and the suspects fled in a white Mazda with no front bumper. The suspects were described as Caucasian or Hispanic males in their early 20s.

The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
