DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is looking for answers after a bull moose was found shot through the shoulder then abandoned in Farmington Canyon.

A prepared statement from Utah DWR said conservation officer Krystal Tucker received information on Oct. 10 from a concerned citizen about a possibly poached bull moose in Farmington Canyon.

Tucker responded and found the bull moose lying partially in the road up Arthur’s Fork in Farmington Canyon, said the statement, which was released Tuesday. A thorough examination of the carcass revealed severe trauma resulting from a gunshot wound in the front shoulder area.

There are no suspects at this time.

Anyone with information about this poaching incident or any other wildlife violation is asked to call Tucker at 801-391-9846. Requests for confidentiality are respected.

You can also call the Utah Turn in a Poacher (UTIP) hotline at 1-800-662-3337. A reward may be available to anyone who provides information leading to the successful prosecution of the person, or people, responsible for this crime.
