Police take suspect into custody after bank robbery in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have a suspect in custody after a bank robbery in Salt Lake City Monday morning.

Officers booked Garrett Eastmond, 37, into jail for robbery, according to a statement from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The news release said the incident occurred at the Bank of Utah, 711 S. State Street, just after 10:20 a.m.

“A man entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money,” the news release said. “After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left on foot.”

Eastmond was apprehended by responding officers a short distance away.
