SLCPD searching for suspect after armed credit union robbery

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 22, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The search is on for a suspect who police said displayed a handgun and demanded money in a Salt Lake City credit union Tuesday afternoon.

The Salt Lake City Police Department said the robbery occurred at the Security Service Federal Credit Union at 2072 S. 2200 East just after 4:30 p.m.

The suspect approached the teller and demanded money while displaying a pistol. He was given an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian, in his mid-20s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing khaki pants, a black and red plaid shirt with a gray hoodie underneath. He was also wearing a black ski cap, dark sunglasses, black gloves and a black neck warmer pulled up over his face.
