UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, June 21, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The bodies of three Vernal men have been found inside a pickup truck submerged in waters of the Green River.

The wreckage was discovered early Wednesday near the town of Jensen about 13 miles southeast of Vernal.

Robert Spoon, 33, Jason Tilt, 33, and Jacob Tilt 29, vanished on May 22 of this year. They had not been seen or heard from since.

Authorities say the men were last spotted the day of their disappearance in a black Chevy Silverado of the same color and model hoisted from the Green River on Wednesday.

Family members had joined law enforcement agencies in the past few weeks in spreading the word of the missing men. They had also organized search parties in the Uintah Basin.

Investigators have yet to determine how the men and pickup ended up in the river.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
