Family of four displaced by house fire in Box Elder County

WILLARD, Utah, May 15, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A Box Elder County family of four is displaced after a fire destroyed their home early Monday morning, officials said.

Crews from three departments were called to the blaze near 7260 S. 600 West in Willard at approximately 2 a.m., according to Box Elder County Fire Marshal Corey Barton.

Barton said two adults and two children escaped the residence after the fire started on the back deck, then spread to the attic and into the rest of the house.

The home is a total loss, with an estimated $250,000 in damages, he added.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.

Willard is approximately 15 miles north of Ogden.
