BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Feb. 23, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is dead after a Thursday morning accident in Box Elder County that involved a passenger car and a FedEx cargo truck.

The victim has been identified as Austin L. Taylor, 28, from Clarkston, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Box Elder troopers responded to an accident on southbound Interstate 15 at mile post 355 at approximately 5:20 a.m.

A Ford Escort driven by Taylor lost control on the icy roadway, and spun to the right into the cable barrier, the news release said. After impacting the cable barrier, the Ford spun back onto the roadway where it was hit broadside by a FedEx semi pulling a single trailer.

The Ford then went into the median and hit the concrete barrier then span back into the lanes of travel and went underneath the trailer of the FedEx semi.
