WEST JORDAN, Utah, April 13, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police were investigating an auto-pedestrian accident Thursday evening after a 4-year-old boy darted across the street into the path of a vehicle.

The accident occurred at about 5:20 p.m. at 6475 W. 7735 South.

West Jordan Police Lt. Reed Motzkus said the subdivision in that area has a small park, and two brothers were playing. He said the 8-year-old boy ran across the street, and his 4-year-old brother ran after him.

“He bolted in front of a car,” Motzkus said.

The boy was transported by ground ambulance to Children’s Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City in serious condition.

Motzkus said the driver, a neighbor of the family, stayed on scene and was cooperative. Police at this time do not suspect any impairment, nor was speed a factor.
